AC100 Recruiting Update: Tyrone Swoopes
Athlon Sports visited with Texas football recruit Tyrone Swoopes.

One of the most dynamic athletes in the nation, Tyrone Swoopes checks in at 6-foot-4 and 230 pounds. The electric athlete has started at quarterback for Whitewright (Texas) High School for the last three seasons after staring at wide receiver as a freshman. His dual-threat skills allowed him to rush for 3,581 yards and 56 touchdowns from 2010-11 before his team struggled in 2012.
He is a raw talent who is going to get a shot at quarterback when he gets to Austin. If he can prove to be accurate and consistent as a passer, Swoopes will be the next big star under center in Austin. But even if he gets switched to another position, his raw athletic ability makes him an elite prospect for any program.
