Athlon Sports visited with Nebraska football recruit Josh Banderas.

Lincoln (Neb.) Southwest High School is home to future Nebraska Cornhuskers star Josh Banderas. He is a 6-foot-2, 220-pound linebacker recruit who has close ties with the Big Red community. His father, Tom, played tight end at Nebraska and it gives the four-star prospect a unique perspective on the passion, commitment and dedication of the Huskers fan base. He is a hometown prospect who has grown up in and around one of the most storied and tradition-laden programs in the game.
In part one of Athlon Sports visit with Banderas, he discusses his future on the gridiron. He excelled on both offense and defense for the Silver Hawks but understands he will have to earn his way into the starting line-up. If that means playing special teams — or anywhere else the coaches ask him to play — he is willing to contribute. He is a fundamentally sound player with an advanced understanding of the game due to his father's experience. His grounded attitude will have him ready to help the team win early on in his playing career.
