Sunday's LENOX Industrial Tools 301 was a typical New Hampshire show — until the final laps witnessed a rash of cautions and a deluge that ended the event 17 laps early. When the Stay Dry cleared and the rains washed away any chance of a restart, a most unlikely car — the No. 2 Dodge of Kurt Busch — found itself in a makeshift Victory Lane.

Not far from Hollywood you’ll find the newly-minted Auto Club Speedway of Southern California. While 500 miles of racing was the plan on Sunday, Mother Nature wrote a script of her own. Rain plagued the two-mile venue all day and night, forcing NASCAR to postpone the final 163 laps of the scheduled 250 until Monday. And like most Hollywood cliffhangers, the suspense of the sequel did not live up to the hype.
