1. Kyle Busch  Kyle-Kept-A-Rollin’ ... His four wins and a second in the last eight races best Carl's two and two.

2. Carl Edwards  Gets win No. 5 at Michigan, furthering the belief that he's the only other driver in Busch’s zip code.

3. Jimmie Johnson  Jimmie was in the same zip code until his day unraveled at Michigan, leading to a 17th-place finish. The 48 will still be as dangerous as they come when the circuit hits New Hampshire.

4. Tony Stewart  Quiet 12th-place showing for Tony after consecutive runner-up finishes. Is he the Chase sleeper we're all looking for?

5.  Kevin Harvick  Valiant charge from a 38th starting spot to an eighth-place finish at Michigan. Don't fall off a cliff now, Kev.

6. Matt Kenseth  When you finish fifth and are still the fourth best car from your stable, you know your team has the track figured out.

7. Dale Earnhardt, Jr.  Another strong run early that gave way to a disappointing 23rd-place run. A better set of tracks await the two Juniors; look for them to break out again soon.

8. Jeff Burton  A very Burton-esque 11th-place run at Michigan. A top 5 at Bristol, which is likely, would be huge for these guys.

9. Mark Martin  The math says Martin would sit comfortably at seventh in the point standings if he were running a full season. Just wait till he gets in that 5 car and shows the young'uns how it's done on a weekly basis.

10. David Ragan  Records career-best third-place run in Michigan race and sits only 26-points out of a Chase spot. Bristol may be make-or-break.

11. Denny Hamlin  Blown engine sinks Hamlin and the 11 team. They should bounce back at Bristol, but the morale is low.

12. Jeff Gordon  Gordon and the 24 team are nosediving. Could he sink out of a Chase spot?

13. Greg Biffle  Fourth-place run for Biffle vaults him up three spots to seventh in the point standings.

14. Kasey Kahne  Conversely, a blown engine drops Kasey three spots in the point standings to 11th.

15. Elliott Sadler  Four top-15 finishes in the last five races for a suddenly resurgent 19 team.

Just off the lead pack: Martin Truex, Jr., Jamie McMurray, Brian Vickers, Clint Bowyer, Ryan Newman
