Rose paced the Bulls to a 3-0 record by averaging 26.7 points, 5.7 assists and 5.0 rebounds, highlighted by a 30-point, seven-assist, six-rebound game in a 101-93 win over Orlando on Jan. 2.
Durant topped the league in scoring with 34.3 points per game to go with 7.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.8 blocks in four games for the Thunder, who went 3-1 during the period. The third-year player became the first player in franchise history to score at least 30 points in seven straight games when he went for 31 in a 103-97 loss to Milwaukee on Jan. 2.
Other nominees for the awards were Charlotte's Stephen Jackson, Cleveland's LeBron James, Houston's Aaron Brooks, L.A. Clippers' Chris Kaman, Memphis' Zach Randolph, New York's David Lee, Portland's Brandon Roy and Toronto's Chris Bosh.
