The trade on Utah's side may be construed as a salary dump, as the 26-year-old Fehse has played in the German League since being selected in the second round of the 2002 draft.
"Trading Eric was a difficult decision," said Jazz general manager Kevin O'Connor. "But, along with Matt's contract, it greatly helps reduce our luxury tax responsibility. Fortunately with Deron [Williams] and a proven backup in Ronnie Price we feel that we have depth at that position."
Maynor was the 20th overall pick in the 2009 draft. The VCU product has seen limited action this season, logging 14 minutes per game. However, in his only two starts of the year with Williams out due to an injury, Maynor averaged 18.5 points and 7.5 assists.
"We are pleased to add Eric Maynor to our organization," said Thunder general manager Sam Presti. "Eric possesses a work ethic and team first mentality that we feel will help us in our continued growth."
Harpring will not report to Oklahoma City, as he is sidelined for the entire 2009-10 campaign due to a left ankle infection. The 11-year veteran has career averages of 11.5 points and 5.1 rebounds with Orlando, Cleveland, Philadelphia and Utah, where he spent the last seven seasons.
To make room on their roster, the Thunder waived guards Shaun Livingston and Mike Wilks.
