Super Bowl XLVII had it all — a blackout, fireworks, records broken, sex appeal and mass hysteria. The Baltimore Ravens beat the San Francisco 49ers, 34–31, at the Superdome in New Orleans. But there was plenty of action, from Alicia Keys' National Anthem to Beyonce's halftime show to Ray Lewis' postgame speech, and every commercial in between. These are the most memorable moments from Super Bowl XLVII.

Super Bowl XLVII was one for the ages as the Baltimore Ravens topped the San Francisco 49ers 34-31 at the Superdome in New Orleans on Feb. 3, 2013. The game featured a record-setting kickoff return, a 34-minute power outage, a near comeback win, an epic halftime show by Beyonce, and an MVP performance by Baltimore QB Joe Flacco. To mark the occasion we pulled together 20 amazing photos to highlight the excitement, the drama and the thrill of Super Bowl XLVII.

Joe Flacco threw three first-half touchdown passes to propel Baltimore to a 21-6 halftime lead in Super Bowl XLVII over San Francisco. The Ravens withstood a spirited comeback by the 49ers in the second half to win 34-31, as Flacco took home MVP honors after completing 22-of-33 passes for 287 yards, those three scores and no turnovers.

Harbaugh believed that wide receiver Michael Crabtree was held in the end zone as Colin Kaepernick tried to throw him the ball on fourth-and-goal from the Ravens' five-yard line with the 49ers trailing 34-29 with less than two minutes left. No penalty was called, allowing the Ravens to take over on downs and seal their victory in Super Bowl XLVII.

Baltimore, San Fran top our list of teams most likely to play in New York City in 2014

Even though the celebration in Baltimore will go on throughout the week and beyond, it’s never too early to look ahead to the 2013 season, right? With that in mind, here’s Athlon Sports’ early look at which teams could be playing in Super Bowl XLVIII in MetLife Stadium in New York City on Feb. 2, 2014.

By the way, the temperature in the Big Apple as of game time on Sunday night was a brisk 31 degrees. Whichever two teams do make it to next season’s Super Bowl will want to be sure and pack their cold-weather gear.

Pinpointing any big game MVP is a complete crapshoot. However, that doesn’t mean there aren’t ways of handicapping the most likely candidates — or keeping Vegas from setting odds on favorites.

San Francisco and Baltimore will battle Sunday night in the 47th edition of the Super Bowl [50]. As the world’s biggest sporting event each year, the Super Bowl’s Most Valuable Player is, in some sense, the most important athlete of each calendar year.

Unless a nagging ankle injury sidelines him, Baltimore linebacker Dannell Ellerbe should line up next to Ray Lewis when the Ravens’ defense takes the field in Super Bowl XLVII [50] on Sunday. An undrafted free agent out of Georgia who signed with the Ravens following the 2009 NFL Draft, Ellerbe has asserted and established himself in his fourth pro season.

How many great teams fell just shy of Super Sunday? Athlon ranks them all.

It seems that each year the NFL is filled with a handful of great teams that just seem to blow it when it comes to the playoffs, never realizing their full potential by making it to the Super Bowl [50]. Teams like the Denver Broncos and New England Patriots certainly met that criteria this season.
