Fantasy Minute: It's playoff time

Fantasy Playoffs. Now it gets real.

With many of you in your fantasy playoffs now those start/bench decisions that seemed so easy a few weeks ago have become gut-wrenching, agonizing choices. Carson Palmer? He has been shut out in three of his last five games! Chad Johnson? Has scored in just one of the last 11 games! Adrian Peterson? He can’t possibly deliver another 3-yard game. Can he?

The list goes on.

Clinton Portis has been averaging just 48 yards per game the last four weeks...Frank Gore? Just when he gets more involved in the passing game injuries force the Niners to go to their third-string QB.

Nobody said this was going to be easy, but whoever said that didn’t have Tom Brady on his team. This is where we all wanted to be when we were drafting our teams back in August. So, congratulations and enjoy. Give yourself a pat on the back for your season; just don’t dislocate your shoulder.

Booms and busts for Week 15....

LenDale White has not only scored in each of Tennessee’s last two games, but I like his matchup against Kansas City. The Chiefs have yielded a 100+ yard runner in four of their last five contests....

Owen Daniels hasn’t made my “boom” list all season and, admittedly, he is a gamble. But, Daniels has quietly scored in two of the last three weeks and faces a Denver defense that has had some trouble with tight ends. The Broncos have yielded eight TDs to the TE position this season...

Despite his 4-TD performance against the Dolphins last week, I’ll bet there aren’t many fantasy owners anxious to start Trent Edwards this week. But maybe they should. Consider that he faces a Cleveland defense that has been surrendering 260+ passing yards per game and has allowed two or more aerial scores in eight games...

I know it would rip your innards out to bench Willie Parker this week and to be honest, I’m sticking with him. But, Parker has a very tough matchup against a Jacksonville run defense that has allowed just one 100-yard rusher all season...

Not only does Edgerrin James have a tough matchup against a New Orleans’ defense, but I question how much time Arizona will be able to spend on the ground against the high-flying Saints...

Anyone who generates three TDs like Sage Rosenfels did last week will attract fantasy attention. However, keep in mind that two of his scores against Tampa last week came on short fields following Bucs’ turnovers. He takes on a Denver defense that has allowed just one multiple TD performance by a QB in the last six weeks...

Sneak pick of the week...
This is a bit of a reach, but I kinda like Alge Crumpler’s matchup with Tampa Bay this week. Crumpler, who hasn’t lived up to fantasy expectations this season, could have an opportunity against the Bucs’ Cover 2 defense that drops it’s safeties deep and leaves the underneath stuff open...

Good luck to everyone this week!
