Injury Updates Week 5: Torrey Smith, Scott Chandler, Andre Johnson
Who's healthy enough to start for your fantasy football team

There are a few key fantasy contributors that have had a number of injury question marks surrounding their playing status leading up to Week 5 of the 2012 NFL season. Here’s a little bit about these three and what you should consider.
Torrey Smith, WR, Baltimore Ravens vs. Kansas City Chiefs
An ankle injury last Thursday against Cleveland has Smith as probable on the injury report. However, that was 11 days ago and Smith practiced all week. He and the Ravens get the Chiefs this week, who are 14th against fantasy receivers. After allowing Roddy White and Julio Jones to combine for 12 catches, 195 yards and two scores in Week 1, Kansas City has allowed one receiver to score each of the last three weeks. However, only Buffalo’s Steve Johnson was a No. 1 receiver; Lance Moore and Eddie Royal scored the other two. No receiver has gone over Lance Moore’s 70 yards outside of White and Jones. The Chiefs are also 24th against fantasy running backs. This could be a Ray Rice game, but you cannot ignore Baltimore boasting the fourth-best fantasy receivers in the game, including Smith receiving 10 targets each of the last two weeks for 12 catches, 224 yards and three scores.
Scott Chandler, TE, Buffalo Bills vs. San Francisco 49ers
A head injury forced the tight end out of the game last week after catching two touchdowns. It’s a bye week and Chandler has already been hanging around the waiver wire as a guy to grab, San Francisco is ranked 23rd against fantasy tight ends. The 49ers gave up four touchdowns over the first two weeks and then faced the offensiveless Jets last week. It’s touchdown-or-bust for Chandler normally as he has just 15 catches for 216 yards but the four touchdowns. The Bills should not be able to run on the 49ers, so Chandler will likely be involved.
Andre Johnson, WR, Houston Texans vs. New York Jets (Monday night)
A groin injury has Andre Johnson on the injury report, but something always has Johnson on the injury report it seems. He saw light practice on Friday and it is a Monday night game this week. He looks like he is good to go, and chances are you are not sitting Johnson, particularly with bye weeks in full force. Just some info to know, however: There is no Darrelle Revis on the Jets’ defensive side of the ball anymore. The Jets have allowed plenty of rushing yards and the Texans are ranked 22nd in passing attempts this season. Johnson, since his Week 1 performance of 10 targets, eight catches, 119 yards and one score, has combined for 14 targets, eight catches, 149 yards and one score. Play at your own risk as these are the Texans of a few years ago.
