Week 13: Miami (OH) at Toledo
The curtain came down on the conference race some time ago for these two, so they’ll have to scrounge around for motivation in late November. For the RedHawks, there is the pursuit of momentum and just something — anything — to feel good about as their program drops to a low water mark.
Goal Line Stand: Hiring right coach is tricky
These days, the cycle of looking for a new coach doesn’t begin in late November but in October. That extra time is valuable for athletic directors like Washington's Scott Woodward, who know full well that their own jobs often hinge on who they hire.
Week 12: Ball State at Miami (OH)
Ball State quarterback Nate Davis has had his way with all nine of his opponents so far, and there’s no reason to believe that his string of dominant performances will end against Miami, even when facing a neighborhood rival on its home turf.
Week 11: Miami (OH) at Buffalo
The non-political spotlight is in Buffalo Tuesday when the Bulls host Miami in the only election night game in the country, and the first nationally-televised game in UB Stadium’s history.
Under The Radar: Week 9
The Big 12, Big Ten and SEC all have marquee match-ups this weekend. But the battle for Pac-10 supremacy will also take place in Tuscan, Arizona. Mike Stoops and Co. are set to take on the USC Trojans late Saturday night.
Week 9: Kent State at Miami (OH)
By mid-October, these two teams have lost a combined 11 games, so this is no battle for a divisional lead or to lock up bowl eligibility. Instead we find Miami knowing it cannot lose again and still stay in the picture in the ho-hum East Division, while Kent State is likely playing to save the job of head coach Doug Martin.
Under The Radar: Week 8
The Big 12 continues to be the conference to watch on Saturday's with marquee match-ups in Austin, Texas and Norman, Okla. However, there are a few other games to watch this weekend that aren't necessarily getting the national hype.
Week 8: Miami (OH) at Bowling Green
It is a pretty unfavorable commentary on the quality of the competition in the MAC’s East Division when the Falcons have the lead in the group with a .500 record. Miami, one of the East’s defending tri-champs, has yet to win in league play.
Week 7: Miami (OH) at Northern Illinois
The last thing the struggling RedHawks need at this juncture is uncertainty at the quarterback position, but that is the situation they face heading to DeKalb to face a somewhat surprising bunch of Huskies.
Under The Radar: Week 6
The upsets continue as Pitt took down South Florida Thursday night. Are there any other teams that need to be on upset alert? Penn State travels to Purdue, Texas heads to Boulder and the 5-0 UConn Huskies are on Tobacco Road this weekend.
Week 6: Temple at Miami (OH)
It is a bewildered Al Golden that brings his Temple team to Ohio’s Ivy League campus in Oxford to face one of the East Division’s defending tri-champions.
Under The Radar: Week 5
Oregon State has thrown the first wrench into the BCS landscape with their 27-21 victory over USC last night. The Horned Frogs of TCU will try their best to do the same Saturday against the Sooners.
Five burning questions: Week 5
Has the Big 12 North caught up to the Big 12 South? Will a Conference USA, MAC or Sun Belt team ever reach a BCS Bowl game? Athlon's editors debate these questions and more in the Week 5 edition of Five Burning Questions.

Under The Radar: Week 4
This is easily the biggest slate of games thus far in 2008. SEC powers will be on display all over the schedule but it doesn't mean that there aren't solid match-ups elsewhere this weekend.
Week 4: Miami (Ohio) at Cincinnati
The Battle for the Victory Bell rages on this week in Cincinnati. Miami holds a 59-46-7 series lead in what’s billed as the oldest nonconference rivalry in the nation.

Under The Radar: Week 3
This is the biggest weekend in college football this season. Ohio State-USC will steal the spotlight but that does not mean there isn't plenty of solid match-ups elsewhere.
