#2. The Miracle in Morgantown
4 of 6The Hokies had led a 19-7 lead slip away at West Virginia, and their undefeated season and number-three ranking in the BCS standings were at risk. But beginning at his own 16, with 1:11 to play and trailing, 20-19, QB Michael Vick engineered a drive with his arm and legs that brought the Hokies to the WVU 27 with 0:05 left. Shayne Graham took it from there, drilling a 44-yard field goal to give Tech a 22-20 win in the “Miracle in Morgantown.”

#1. Tech Spanks The Longhorns
5 of 6Although the Hokies had enjoyed bowl prosperity before under Frank Beamer, it was of the modest variety. On New Year’s Eve, 1995, VT hit the mother lode, not only reaching the Sugar Bowl against Texas but spanking the Longhorns, 28-10. The nasty Tech defense held Texas to 226 total yards, and QB Jim Druckenmiller threw for 266 yards and a touchdown.
