Dan Persa's record-breaking junior season was cut short when he ruptured his Achilles tendon against Iowa last November. He was named first-team All-Big Ten by the coaches and led all FBS quarterbacks by completing 74 percent of his passes, which also broke the Big Ten and Northwestern single-season records. He also ranked first nationally for fewest interceptions thrown with just four in 302 attempts. He is a two-time Academy All-Big Ten selection and was a 2010-11 Big Ten Distinguished Scholar recipient.
