The Analysis

Golden is a heady defensive back prospect. He is rarely out of position, using superior diagnostic skills to get to the right spot on the field to make a play. Where he will play in the secondary is yet to be determined.

His build and size would lend themselves to the corner position. However, great recognition skills, a physical mentality and good strength are more safety-like than corner. He is a solid tackler and fills against the run very well. He is very smooth in zone coverage schemes, getting into and out of his backpedal with great ease.

His lack of top-end and closing speed might force him to play the safety position. He would offer tremendous versatility from the safety spot. He could jump up and check a slot receiver man-to-man or play the high point and use those great diagnostic skills. Golden is all about natural instincts and feel, so he may be able to play corner based solely on his mental capacity. Either way, Arizona has a solid football player in Golden.
