The Skinny

Would fit great in a 3-4 system as a hybrid DE/LB

The Analysis

Florida State is getting a versatile prospect in Carr. He is projected as a defensive end as well as a linebacker. He has experience playing both positions in high school, where at times he had his hand in the dirt and other times he was split out covering a slot receiver. Linebacker is where he should be play, or possibly even a hybrid DE/LB.  In a 3-4 scheme, he could be used as a rush end on pass plays and a flowing linebacker against the run.

It’s unlikely he will be a pure defensive end. He lacks the brute size and power to match-up with 6’6”, 300-pound tackles on run downs, but his pass coverage ability is solid enough to play predominately linebacker.
