Mike Glennon (Athlon Consensus #83)
Teams Of Interest
Committed to NC State
The Skinny
Led Westfield High to the state's first ever 15-0 record
The Analysis
This tall quarterback prospect is one of the best pocket passers in the class. He has good arm strength and can make every throw needed. At times his motion looks effortless as he throws opposite hash outs and vertical routes. His motion is technically sound and very smooth. He stands tall and confident in the pocket, and he never takes long to deliver the ball. Once he gets on a roll, he is incredibly difficult to stop.
At 6’5” and not quite 200 pounds, Glennon will need to add thickness and bulk in order to absorb blows from opposing defenders. He will never be considered a mobile quarterback but shows decent footwork and stays focused on squaring his shoulders on almost every throw.
In the right system he could be a star. NC State is an interesting choice because Tom O’Brien is not used to slinging the ball all over the place. Glennon does show solid play-action ability and in a run- first offense, he could be very dangerous
