The Analysis

Floyd may be the best prospect to come out of the state of Minnesota since Twins catcher Joe Mauer. He has all the tools to be an All-America wide receiver. He has soft hands and does a great job of catching the football away from his pads. He has great leaping ability, making him a solid red zone go-to target. He has great ball skills, giving him the ability to make the tough catch in traffic. He runs great routes and knows how to manipulate defensive backs in order to get open.

He also is deceptively fast for a bigger, more physical wideout. Floyd has the speed and acceleration needed to be a big-time deep threat in the vertical passing game. But at the same time, he shows the physicality and heart to go over the middle without fear of being hit.

Floyd truly is a rare prospect. It is very difficult to find weakness in Floyd’s game — the only negative is his lack of short-space burst. He had a dominating performance at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, dominating a nice corner prospect in Boubacar Cissoko.
