The Analysis

The top player in the state of Michigan for the 2008 class is a powerful bruising running back. In fact, Gray might be the top power running back prospect in the entire nation. He rarely goes down on first contact, generally because he is the one initiating the hit. When Gray gets into the open field he looks to finish runs off by targeting a smaller defender to hit.

Gray is at his best, however, when he is between the tackles. He shows nice patience and solid vision as he waits for holes to develop. Once he finds his crease, he does a fabulous job of attacking the gap. He plants his foot and explodes into the defensive front. Any coach would love his tough-nosed, pile-driving mentality. He will always fall forward.
