The Analysis

Hales very simply plays bigger than his measurements. Hales shows no fear when it comes to running slant routes and seem routes. He also plays the ball at its highest point, showing good leaping ability. He has excellent hands. Bubble screens, hitches and maybe even a hand-off or two will all be a part of his game.

Louisville wide receiver Harry Douglas has a very similar game and a very similar body. Hales shows elite speed on deep routes and on kick returns. He already understand the subtle nuances to running solid crisp routes.

He will need to add a lot of strength and bulk in the weight room as he has a tendency to get tossed around at times. Although Hales rushed for almost 1000 yards with a 10.5 yards/carry his senior year, the lack of power will keep him from playing running back in college.
