The Analysis
The list of playmakers at the wide receiver position continues. Chris Tolliver has some of the quickest feet and best separation speed as any pass catcher in this class. His explosive acceleration gives him a great burst off the line of scrimmage. This gives him a tremendous advantage against press coverage as he gets over the top of defensive backs rapidly. He then uses outstanding separation speed once the ball is in the air to create space and make the catch.
Tolliver does not possess elite top-end speed. However, his acceleration and separation ability give him the appearance of having great speed, so it may never matter.
Tolliver is also very smooth in the open field. His cuts are very subtle and rarely does he lose momentum when changing direction. This allows him to play a major role in the return game. He has good hands and runs solid routes. He will be a terror in man-to-man situations.
