The Analysis
Butler does not have the elite, top-end speed of some of the other marquee wide receivers, but few pass catchers in this class are as polished and ready to play right away. That is quite a statement considering how deep this receiver class is. He has fabulous ball skills and will really help quarterbacks with poorly thrown passes. He fights for every pass, going up and high pointing the ball most of the time.
Butler is simply a very smooth athlete. He runs nice routes, getting in and out of breaks with great fluidity. He has nice, long arms and legs that allow him to make plays on the ball.
Butler’s slightness will have to be addressed, however. He is very thin and will need to get bigger and stronger. He has no fear about going into traffic to make the tough catch, so his wiry frame will take a beating is he does not add weight.
