The Analysis

Brown is arguably the best linebacker in the nation. His explosiveness is what makes him such an appealing prospect. He is rock solid moving through traffic to get to the ball-carrier. When he shows up, generally, it’s loud. Running backs remember being hit by Brown. His small-space agility and explosive burst are not only straight ahead but lateral as well. This gives Brown to play sideline-to-sideline so well. He is perfectly suited to play weak-side linebacker, which allows him to flow all the over field and make plays.

Former Florida State and current Detroit Lion Ernie Sims is a perfect comparison.

Interestingly enough, Bryce Brown — Arthur’s little brother — might actually be better prospect. The Wichita East running back is considered one of the top prospects in the 2009 class.
