Henderson: #1 in 2010

(Mar 22nd, 2009 4:21 pm)

After a brief hiatus for the first round of the NCAA tourney, the Unofficial Visitor is back.

This week we will begin our in-depth coverage of the 2010 class. We will start with a watch list that will be released position by position for the next few weeks.

As both Rivals and Scout have released their preliminary lists for '10, I have a brief look at what the 2010 AC100 may look like. As we wait for our other partners to eval, scout and then rank players, I will keep you posted on what the list looks like heading up to the initial release of the AC100 in the near future.

Vols Land David Oku

(Mar 6th, 2009 1:02 pm)

AC 100 tailback David Oku (#52) has finally ended his whirlwind recruitment and signed with Tennessee. The 5’9”, 175-pound Midwest City, Oklahoma native originally committed to the Volunteers in October (during the Phil Fulmer regime), but he had backed off his verbal with the new staff and visited Syracuse and Auburn in January. Oku had still not made up his mind on Signing Day, and then in late February, he moved from Oklahoma to Nebraska to finish high school. This set off rampant speculation about the Cornhuskers becoming his college choice, but Oku told the Knoxville News Sentinel that the move was made to improve academically and escape some family problems. In the end, Oku stuck with the Vols and Coach Lane Kiffin adds another solid player to the #20 ranked recruiting class.

Montana A Hot Property

(Feb 17th, 2009 12:59 am)

The ink is not even close to dry on the 2009 class and the heat coming off the 2010 class is reaching a boiling point already.

Concord (Calif.) Oaks Christian quarterback Nick Montana - yes, that Montana - has been talked about for sometime now but the offer sheet is starting to look VERY impressive.

So far, he is sporting offers from Arizona, Maryland, Ohio State, Stanford, South Carolina and LSU. Texas and Alabama are hot on the trail as well.

The 6-2, 180 pound junior is a little undersized but another year of weight training in high school could put his entrance weight up near 200 pounds.
