The Analysis
PROS: Obviously, the first thing to stand out about DGB on film is his size. He is a freakish athlete with elite size for his position. Yet, he is not a balky player – he has fluid, smooth movements to go with rare agility and burst for a player of his size. He running style in the opening field is similar to that of Vince Young – he is a glider. When he puts on his college weight – roughly 10 more pounds of strength - Calvin Johnson will be an adequate comparison. And his ball skills match his athleticism. He will attack the ball at its highest point and will consistently use his hands to keep the ball away from his body. And with arms that are freakishly long, Green-Beckham should be a weapon in every level of the passing attack and in every area of the field.CONS: While Missouri prep football is nothing to sneeze at, it is not an elite state for talent, so the only potential question mark with this stellar prospect is the defensive backs he faced growing up. And while he is very smooth for his size, he is not as fluid as some other elite top ten wide receivers of the past few seasons. There is little not to like about DGB.
BIO: Earned Gatorade Player of the Year honors in Missouri in 2010. Helped lead his basketball team to state title as well.
