The Analysis

Offensive players learn very quickly to keep an eye out for Harris. This kid can hit. What is amazing about how hard he hits is that it’s fundamentally sound. He wraps-up and drives through the ball-carrier with his legs. Once he zeros in on the ball, he uses great closing speed and burst to destroy people. It is a thing of beauty.

He is also a very impressive blitzer off the end. He gets around the edge and into the pocket with lightning quickness. This might lead the coaching staff to ask Harris to put on some weight and put his hand on the ground. His flash around the end can be lethal. Harris would fit perfectly in a 3-4 scheme. His ability to be a rush-end one play and pass-covering linebacker the next would be very dangerous. Nick Saban calls it the ‘Jack back.’

He will need work on his zone drops and man-to-man technique if he ends up as a true linebacker.
