Week 7 has plenty of strong fantasy options at the running back spot. Ball State’s MiQuale Lewis gets the nod as our top running back this week, but Louisiana-Lafayette’s Tyrell Fenroy is a close No. 2. Over the last three weeks, Lewis has become more of a goal-line threat for the Cardinals, scoring nine touchdowns in his last three games. Fenroy is coming off a monster 297-yard effort against Louisiana-Monroe and with North Texas on tap, look for Fenroy to rumble his way for another solid effort. Rounding out our top five for this week is Michigan State’s Javon Ringer, Oregon State’s Jacquizz Rodgers and Tulane’s Andre Anderson.

Boise State’s Ian Johnson has been a slight disappointment this season. After beginning the season as one of the top five fantasy running backs, Johnson has not notched a 100-yard effort this year and has only 266 yards through four games. The emergence of Jeremy Avery and D.J. Harper has impacted Johnson’s workload. Saturday’s game against Southern Mississippi is an intriguing running back battle between Johnson and Damion Fletcher.

Injury updates -

Kent State’s Eugene Jarvis is questionable to play with a high ankle sprain.

Georgia’s Knowshon Moreno (elbow) is expected to play against Tennessee.

Ohio State’s Chris Wells is still recovering from the toe injury he suffered in the season opener, but will be able to go against Purdue.

Oregon’s LeGarrette Blount has a hip injury, but is slated to play in Saturday’s match-up against UCLA.

New Mexico’s Rodney Ferguson is battling a bruised shoulder, but is expected to return for Saturday’s match-up against BYU.

Fresno State’s Ryan Mathews has a knee injury and is questionable to play against Idaho.
