Week 7 DEF/K Rankings

As the halfway point of the 2008 season approaches, there are some noteworthy pieces to the top ten in fantasy defenses. In a standard defensive scoring system, BYU, Florida, TCU, Boston College and Alabama round out the top five, but Kentucky, Auburn and California aren’t far behind. BYU has managed three touchdowns on special teams or defense in their last two games and TCU has notched at least three sacks in every game this season.

What does this mean going forward? Owners playing the waiver wire game with their fantasy defense should have no trouble finding a replacement each week. However, the playoffs are a little ways away, but if your team is in good position, taking a look ahead at some of the defensive match-ups late in the year could pay off.
