Week 6 WR Rankings

Week 6 has plenty of solid plays at receiver, but once again, Texas Tech’s Michael Crabtree gets the nod. Crabtree and his Texas Tech teammates should have a huge day against Kansas State. The Red Raiders hope the rest of their receiving corps begins to step up and take some of the pressure off of Crabtree, after struggling with dropped passes earlier this year. Rounding out our top five for Week 6 is Rice’s Jarett Dillard, Florida’s Percy Harvin, Missouri’s Jeremy Maclin and Minnesota’s Eric Decker.

As evidenced by Dillard’s inclusion in the top five of fantasy receivers, Tulsa vs. Rice should have plenty of points scored. Tulsa has a couple of options at receiver, but it has been more of a receiver-by-committee approach. Running back Charles Clay and receiver Brennan Marion appear to be the top reception threats, but we can’t rule out Damaris Johnson or Slick Shelley having a huge game this Saturday.

Losing Dante Love is going to be tough to overcome for Ball State, but Briggs Orsbon is coming off a 10 catch performance against Kent State. Orsbon should be a name to grab off the waiver wire now, especially with quarterback Nate Davis throwing him and we think he will continue to post solid catch totals.

A couple of injury situations to watch –

Kansas – Dexton Fields is back after missing a good chunk of the season with a foot injury. His return clouds the fantasy value of Daymond Patterson and Johnathan Wilson, but we’ll have a better idea after Saturday’s game.

Cincinnati – With Zach Collaros or Chazz Anderson likely to start against Marshall, don’t expect either passer to post Tony Pike or Dustin Grutza-esque numbers. Collaros and Anderson are inexperienced and we think it will have an impact on the fantasy value of Marty Gilyard and Dominick Goodman, at least for this week.
