Week 5 WR/TE Rankings

With Texas Tech idle this week, we’ll give the nod to Rice’s Jarett Dillard as the top fantasy option. Dillard had a few drops in September, but he’s primed for a huge performance against North Texas. The Mean Green counter with their own top five option in Casey Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald’s fantasy value has received a significant bump with Sun Belt play up next on the schedule. Needless to say, the scoreboard operators at Rice Stadium could be busy on Saturday. Rounding out the top five for Week 5 is New Mexico State’s Chris Williams, Western Michigan’s Jamarko Simmons and Florida’s Percy Harvin.

With the loss of tight end Blaine Irby, the Texas duo of Quan Cosby and Jordan Shipley could see a few more passes in their direction. Both receivers are top 10 options this week, and could be on the waiver wire in some leagues. Big 12 South rival Oklahoma has a risky match-up against TCU, but we think the Sooners are still solid fantasy options this week.

A couple of players to watch this week – Tulsa’s Damaris Johnson, Washington’s D’Andre Goodwin and Buffalo’s Naaman Roosevelt.

Couple of injury notes -

South Carolina’s Kenny McKinley is doubtful to play with a hamstring injury.

Bowling Green’s Freddie Barnes is nursing a shoulder injury and is questionable to play in Saturday’s game against Bowling Green.

UTEP’s Jeff Moturi has a hamstring injury and is questionable to play against UCF. However, he will likely be without the services of quarterback Trevor Vittatoe if he is able to go.

San Jose State’s Kevin Jurovich is battling a case of mono and is out indefinitely.
