Week 4: SE Louisiana at Louisiana Tech

Louisiana Tech gets a break in the schedule after opening the season against Mississippi State and Kansas. The Bulldogs spent part of the bye week addressing breakdowns in the passing game, which is operated by senior transfer Taylor Bennett. Bennett is last among WAC starters in pass efficiency, completing 35.6 percent of his passes with one touchdown and two interceptions.

This shouldn’t be much of a game. Louisiana Tech beat Mississippi State in its opener. Mississippi State rebounded by beating Southeastern 34-10.

Louisiana Tech has not allowed a sack this year.

This is the 37th meeting between the schools. They are former Gulf States Conference rivals.

Southeastern is 0-10 against FBS schools since 2003.

Key Player (Lions) — Jay Lucas, RB

Lucas recently became the fourth player in school history to rush for more than 2,000 yards in a career and the fifth player in school history, and first running back, to make more than 100 catches in a career. He leads the team with 146 rushing yards and four touchdowns and is second with 144 receiving yards. He is a Texas A&M transfer.

Key Player (Bulldogs) — Phillip Livas, WR

Livas leads the Bulldogs with eight catches for 115 yards. He had a 78-yard run against Kansas, the fifth-longest run in school history. Livas also has a reception and a kickoff return of more than 70 yards in his career.
