The collective sigh of relief heard on Wednesday from around the country had everything to do with Ohio State running back Chris Wells. Although the junior isn’t expected to play while nursing a toe injury, he should be back in uniform against USC. Fantasy owners owning Wells were certainly hoping for good news and that's exactly what they got. The Buckeyes should be in good shape with Maurice Wells, Brandon Saine and Daniel Herron against Ohio. Wells and Saine figure to get the majority of the carries, but since the split of carries is up in the air, it’s hard to gauge their fantasy value.

Navy’s Shun White stole the show at running back in week one, while LeSean McCoy, Anthony Dixon and Ryan McCants posted sluggish performances. Although White is a solid back, don’t expect over 300 rushing yards against Ball State. It may be easy to give up on a player like McCants after one game, but remember there are 11 more games to play.

Two players to watch closely - California’s Jahvid Best and Idaho’s Deonte Jackson. Best is proving to be as good as expected and he’s got a great match-up against Washington State this week. Jackson struggled against Arizona, but look for the sophomore to bounce back against Idaho State.

Couple of notes -

Arkansas’ Michael Smith is back in the lineup after missing last week’s game with a suspension.

South Florida’s Mike Ford left Saturday’s game with an ankle injury and has been limited in practice. The sophomore back is questionable to play against UCF.

Connecticut’s Andre Dixon missed last week’s game with an ankle injury, but is expected to return. Look for Dixon to cut into Donald Brown’s carries.
