i hear coach Marvin Lewis is personally inviting all Tennessee players to try out for his Bengals next year. They fit the Bengals code of high ethical standards.

Sure enough, the dawgs will have a very good team this year but when it comes to the world's largest cocktail party...the dawgs will be gator bait! You all deserve a preseason top 10 spot but don't get too full of yourself, ok?

Submitted by WolfCity57 on August 17, 2008 - 2:38pm.

You'd love to see Rocky Top kick the crap out of the Gators, lmao...you only wish Texas Tech had 1/2 the talent that Florida has! Of course, everyone I've ever met from Texas thinks they're the best at everything...it's too bad you can't control yourselves, its very sad!

The Gators are rightfully positioned at #1, they have the best QB in the country and a strong returning offense which should off-set any of the secondary short falls.

GO GATORS!!

But what's up with Ohio State? How many beat downs at the hands of the SEC will it take before this media love affair ends?
Go Gators!

With all honesty, I think we will score a lot of points on Tennessee again. Our offense, for the most part, was one of the best last year and it will clearly be better this year! Skeptical? Experience matters and we return nearly everyone. We are going to use every inch of the field at Neyland Stadium, running ALL over a traditional slow but physical Tennessee team. I doubt we will score 59 points again on the road, but it will most likely be a lot! We have too much speed to be beat by UT. It's truly pathetic that UT and other "good ole" SEC fans with their palm-palms flooding their stadium have always had a big tradition of thinking about the Florida game 24/7, 365 days a year when the Gators continue to dominate the series. We will not win every game, but we will continue to dominate for a LONG, LONG time, as we started 20 years. Urbanate Rocky Top and the Home Sweet Home Hillbillies

I would not be too surprised to see OSU in the title game again simply beacuse of their schedule. This year, just like the last 2 years, they will talk about how great they are when beating up loser teams (for the most part). Only 1 or 2 tough games and then it's time to face reality at the title game. How many teams did Troy Smith and OS's "high powered offense" face in 2006 that had a defense ranked in the top 25? Exacly. Some(not all) Buckeye fans these days sound like FSU fans from the mid-late 90's. They talk big and bad and make fun of other teams performances, such as Florida for instance, because Florida is always going to be Ohio State's nightmare and there is nothing they can ever do about it but whine. They never have to go through a real man's schedule. I am not a fan of neither the SEC or the Big Ten by the way.

I'm a Big 12 Fan. But sometimes it ticks me off that Gator Fans think they're big and bad. I would love to see tennessee kick the crap out of ya'll

Georgia putting the almighty Teblow on his azz last season was the highlight of my lmited SEC game views! Can't wait to see that again and no doubt it will happen again. Every team has The Faders number this season, I predict another 3-4 losses and let the whinning begin about how they are AGAIN rebuilding! See the Buckeyes in the NC game !!

First off Tennessee is always ranked when they shouldnt be second off its not fulmer that wins games its the players and his ass. coaches. He doesnt know jack shit about football. And whineing till they give it to us what the fuck you talking about the only championship we have is in 57 and i guess you were there for that one. in 2004 we should have had a shot at the title but beating Tennessee twice in one year was good enough for me. So get a real team and when you want to be more realistic then hollar at me.

As a Vol fan, I would like to be the first to say that we have some, actually many, fans that are a few sammiches shy of a picnic. Also, for all the fans who use the we beat this team by that much and they lost close to this team who beat this other team by a lot and if we'd played em on a Wednesday at night instead of the middle of the day on Saturday so since all this happened and if it wasn't for all those 4th down conversions last year so that means were gonna kick everybody's butt this year mentality, YOU ARE MORONS, IDIOTS, NUMBSKULLS, and BUFFOONS. Those kind of arguments are senseless and add up to nothing. Kentucky and Arkansas both finished 8-5 last season. They both beat LSU. Does that mean that they were better than LSU. NO, but they did beat them. Florida beat Tennessee 59-20, Tennessee beat Georgia 35-14, and Georgia beat Florida 42-30. I rest my case. Anyway, I want to address the idiot Vol fan talkin smack on this site. When you lose by 39 and the team you lost to looks like it will be better this year, DON'T TALK SMACK ABOUT HOW WERE SOMEHOW GONNA DRILL THE GAYTORS THIS YEAR. That is dumb. What makes you think our matador defense won't be horrible against the spread again this year. Tennessee will probably win 8 or 9 games this year. We need to face the fact that we have been a mediocre team since 2001. Give it two years and they'll return to the top, but until then, shut yer dadgum mouth and look into some Butt Crack Bowl tickets.

maybe you should read a article or two before you spout off. Tennessee has talented recievers that are more than decent. Eric Berry and Demetrius Morley will lead our secondary. As for getting a coach...(stupid auburn fan) Phillip Fulmer..147 wins and 45 losses in 16 years as Tennessee's head coach. winning %.766. that my friend is a coach right there and we won our national championship on the field...not by whining untill it was givin too us. Back to the gators though...why dont YOU get a coach. Urban Meyer has faked his entire career. He did good for a couple seasons at 2nd tier schools with inherited players...then goes to gainsville and wins a national championship that should belong on ron zooks mantle. All those players were the zook mans...meyer is a imposter

Do you have memory loss? Do you remember getting absolutely destroyed last year? Didn't the Gators win by 39!? Oh yeah I remember now... we posted 59 on that lousy defense of yours and you couldn't put up 3 TDs! Ha your team doesn't have any decent receivers and Eric Berry can't cover Harvin, Rainey, Moore, Ingram, and Murphy at the same time. Good Luck getting annihilated again. :)

BLAKE just to let you know over 50% of athlons employees are not sec fans. Both my brother and step dad are editors of the company and they simply go off of stats. And if you look in the past athlon has predicted the season rankings closer than all of the other sports magazines in the area. so next time you say someone is biased you should check your self.

Florida will have so many weapons this year that it will be very hard to cover them all. If you play to stop the run, they can pass. If you play to stop the pass, they can run. They also have pretty good depth as well. They do not drop off much when they give someone a rest. Urban Meyer said he wanted to have the fastest team in the nation, and this year it looks like he will.

Hey Big "Slow" Ten guy, I don't recall Michigan having anything worth a hoot about their team as well. Didn't you guys lose to Appy State, AT HOME?!? If I recall, Michigan couldn't spell d-e-f-e-n-s-e if you wrote it on a piece of paper. Since people like you have a shoe-sized IQ level, let me inform you that last year we fielded an extremely young team. One that was depleted especially on defense due to graduation. Starting freshmen and sophomores at any position in CFB, especially the SEC, is very difficult to deal with. Nonetheless, we finished at the top of the SEC in rushing defense. Our secondary was bad, I'll admit. But with what we have coming back this year not to mention the depth we'll have on defense is amazing. We'll be better than most expect in that department. In the meantime Big "Slow" Ten Bungler, have fun getting slapped around by Ohio State. Your Wolver-weenies struggled against a young and inexperienced Florida team last year. A Senior-laden Michigan team at that. If I were you, I wouldn't be talking right now. Then again, most Big-10 fans like yourself corner the market on being delusional.

I find it was funny you use the word MORON mentioned in reference to one of the site readers ... and more surprisingly you could spell it correctly ... and I'm not even an Auburn or UF fan ... but a Texas Longhorn alumni and fan, but, I do love SEC football, as well as The Big 12. UG did finish tied for the East Division by the system in place only, but not on the field ... UG actually finished 3rd in the Div. on the field at 3-2 record while both UF & Tenn both finished 4-1 in the E.Div. ... both of your losses were in your own Div., In addition GOOD TEAMS don't get the slobber knocker knocked out of them by another Div. team (Tenn.), and almost lose to Vandy. Now, had you played UF with a healthy Tebow & Harvin and beat LSU, now that would certainly be a different story. By the way, didn't UF stomp both Tenn. & SC and stomp Vandy,as well. The same teams UG lost too, and struggled with . Maybe a healthy Tebow had something to do with those wins, plus, they weren't blown out in any of their loses ... UG can't claim the same ... Actually, UG will be lucky if they finish in the top 25 by years end .UG will probably be lucky to finish 4-4 or3-5 record in the conference this year. I know you don't want to hear this, but, it's reality ... UG is very over rated, this year ... They play SC, Ala., Tenn., LSU,& UF in Jax, Fl. back to back and only Tenn.& Alabama are at home.UG schedule is brutal and UG just isn't that good! The cream of the crop this year will be LSU, UF, Ala.,Aub., Tenn & SC ... all these teams will be ahead of UG by the end of the season ... The SEC championship game will be LSU again, from the West and Florida from the EAST, and Florida winning the Championship ... That's Reality, my friend! HOOK'UM HORNS

Michigan beat you in your last bowl game. I don't think you even have a national championship caliber defense. Most SEC fans are delusional any ways. You probably think you could have beaten the Patriots or Giants in the Super Bowl too. Morons!!!

Submitted by rowdyreptilegrad95 on June 9, 2008 - 5:11pm.

...for UGA's pre-season ranking is the fact that you guys have an extremely tough schedule. Despite your team's prognosis, which I can't believe the article's statement regarding "no weakenesses" therein, you have a serious gauntlet ahead of you. You're looking at Alabama, Tennessee, LSU, Florida, and Auburn in almost consecutive weeks of play. That in itself is murderer's row. Most people out there are predicting you guys to have 2-3 losses at season's end. And that's totally not out of the realm of possibility. A key injury or two can make that a reality. Florida's schedule isn't anything to sneeze at either. And if you really want to know the truth, we Gators would rather be ranked around 8-10. That way, we'd be in striking distance at season's end for a possible BCS title berth.

Submitted by calhoundawg on June 9, 2008 - 7:14am.

... why they let morons like you post on this site. Georgia was co-Eastern Division Champions, beat their top three rivals in Florida, Auburn, and Georgia Tech, and finished #2
AP in the country. Just in case those logistics are lost on you, everyone in the nation except the national champion finished BEHIND the Bulldogs. What type of mind-altering substance are you on?

Submitted by What77 on June 7, 2008 - 5:22pm.

my only question for now is what can Georgia be really proud of last season. They had a good record ya, but how did they actually do. They beat all the really small opponents big, except for Troy, that was a little close. Then they lose to a mediocre South Carolina team and get blown out by an average Tennessee team. They barely get by with a win against Vandy and win with a semi-close game with Florida. They also won a close game to Bama early on. So far they really have no accolades in from their wins, none of these victories are that great cept the florida is ok, and they lost to two mediocre teams. Then they end up beating Kentucky, GTech, and destroy Hawaii and Auburn. The destroying auburn was really the only great accomplishment that i think that the dawgs had last year. Hawaii was supremely overrated and Florida had a terrible D. WHenever they played anyone that was good they didn't look as great. Florida came close despite a terrible D, Tennessee destroyed them and a then ok South Carolina ended up winning. NOt to mention the close Alabama game and scare against Vandy. Their is no victory that really set Georgia apart last year. They even got to skip the SEC's best: LSU. The truth is, Georgia was just a good team last year and was nothing special, they are overrated and over hyped. With who they return and their current talent, could they be a top 10 team this year? Yes there is potential. But no. 1, probably not. Florida should not be this high either with their horrendous D last year. But they also return nearly everyone and have actually shown to have an amazing Offense that could keep them in contention with any team. All in all, florida looks to be more of a promising team considering their losses were pretty close and with even a slightly upgraded D, some luck, and an easier schedule, they should have a better shot at being the best team in the nation. USC seems to have the best shot to be the best team next year. However, they always play to their opponents level and will probably lose a couple. Ultimately itll probably come down to the Fla-UGA game to decide which of these teams has the best shot. Right now Florida has too many questions on D and UGA still has to prove they can play against the tougher competition.

Submitted by emcadoo@gmail.com on June 6, 2008 - 8:33pm.

Georgia should be one of the two top teams in the nation They have no weaknesses although their seems to be a concerns abour quarterback and offensive line. People always want to talk about Staffords 26 to 23 career touchdown to interception ratio, he was 19 of 10 last year if you guys didn't know he played as a freshman. The offensive line returns three starters that dominated during the season and they were freshman also. Who cares about the toughest schedule, the last two national champions were from the sec. You guys had the oportunity to get it right and you missed.
