1. Who cares who is in the top 5 right now, unless you are Boise State and think you can make a BCS bowl. The top team is Florida right now, even though Percy Harvin will be missed. The next four should be, in any order, Oklahoma, Texas, Oklahoma Ste and Virginia Tech. USC should not be in here with a rookie QB and a rebuilt Defense. Even the big haired guy on ESPN, Kiper, predicts they will lose 2 of their first 4 on the road. And that guy is considered a god in some circles.

FYI, as far as your Big 12 picks...

BIG 12
1.Oklahoma 1.Texas
2.Oklahoma St 2.Texas Tech
3.Nebraska 3.Baylor
4.Mizzou 4.Texas A&M
5.Kansas 5.Colorado
6.Kansas St 6.Colorado St
7.Iowa St 7.TCU
8.Utah 8.UTEP

Oklahoma and Oklahoma State are in the Big 12 South, not North. Colorado is in the Big 12 North.

Utah and Colorado State are in the Mountain West Conference and Iowa is in the Big 10. Iowa State is in the Big 12 North, but they are left out entirely.

Thanks

Florida should be a unanimous #1; however, Oklahoma is the clear cut #2. Texas has no running game, returns only one starter at wide receiver, does not throw to their tight ends, and lost their entire defensive line. Flordia has holes, but they possess the top college player in Tim Tebow and return their entire defense. I believe that Oklahoma can beat Florida this year because the Gators lost their top two receivers and both of their offensive tackles. Tim Tebow is great, but people are going to find out just how valuable Percy Harvin was to this team this year.

I think you have USC and Penn st too high SC lost their entire defense and their starting -QB Penn st overachieved with a QB perfect in their system and he's now gone.the rest looks possible but no OU?

Some of you may remember one of my posts earlier this year saying I though Georgia was slightly overrated. It turns out I was right. I think they've now fallen 9 spots in the polls. They are beatable (as proved by Alabama) and I think they will lose two more games at least (Florida and LSU).

sooner777
(October 15, 2008 - 7:51am)

i think that this week oklahoma state will be the best coming off a win against missouri amd playing baylor they will look like the better team, but tulsa has been worthy of the top 25 for the past 2 seasons and they are very good, also oklahoma won't let a loss bring them down they'll fight hard to go to the big twelve championship and to get back into the national championship conversation, but oklahoma state is currently the best

met1bama
(October 14, 2008 - 4:31pm)

Yes I was thinking about that earlier, and I agree that Tulsa should be a big 12 team! And yes Utah would be a better suit for the pac 10.Would you agree that "right now"Oklahoma St is the best team in the state of Oklahoma,or is it Tulsa or OU?

sooner777
(October 14, 2008 - 3:27pm)

you kinda forgot tulsa, which should be in big twelve and you could move utah to pac ten so that there wouldn't be an odd number of teams in the big twelve with the addition of tulsa, i would like to see the south west conference come back.

met1bama
(October 13, 2008 - 8:18pm)

I believe that this is gonna be a great season! It has already been suprising, and exciting!Alabama goes from the bottom of the rankings to #2 in the country.Michigan,Tennessee, and Clemson all turned out to be very overrated.Utah,Boise St,and BYU all deserve to have a chance at a national championship.I think there needs to be a realinement in the college football world! The PAC 10 needs to add more teams(BYU,Utah,or Hawaii). The BIG 12 needs to add a couple more(Colorado St,or Fresno St)The SEC needs a few more(So.Miss,S.Florida,or Louisville)The BIG 10 needs to add(Notre Dame,Ohio,or Pitt)Disasemble CUSA,and the Big East!Make a new power conference! It would look like this..
SEC west east
1.Alabama 1.Florida
2.Arkansas 2.Georgia
3.Auburn 3.Kentucky
4.LSU 4.Louisville
5.Miss St 5.S.Carolina
6.Ole Miss 6.S.Florida
7.So.Miss 7.Tennessee
8.Memphis 8.Vanderbilt
BIG 10
1.Penn St 1.Ohio St
2.Notre Dame 2.Ohio
3.Minnesotta 3.Illinois
4.Michigan 4.Iowa
5.Mich St 5.Indiana
6.N.western 6.W.Virginia
7.Wisconsin 7.Syracuse
8.Pitt 8.Cincy
ACC
1.Boston C 1.Va Tech
2.Florida St 2.Virginia
3.Clemson 3.Marshall
4.UConn 4.N.Carolina
5.Maryland 5.NC ST
6.Duke 6.Florida Atlantic
7.Ga Tech 7.Fla Int
8.Miami 8.S.Carolina St
BIG 12
1.Oklahoma 1.Texas
2.Oklahoma St 2.Texas Tech
3.Nebraska 3.Baylor
4.Mizzou 4.Texas A&M
5.Kansas 5.Colorado
6.Kansas St 6.Colorado St
7.Iowa St 7.TCU
8.Utah 8.UTEP
PAC 10
1.Cal 1.ASU
2.UCLA 2.BYU
3.USC 3.Oregon
4.Stanford 4.Oregon St
5.Boise St 5.Hawaii
6.Washington 6.Idaho
7.Wash St 7.Fresno St
8.Arizona 8.Wyoming
This is just a rough scetch of the way I think the conferences should look. Each team plays 1 non conference game, and the rest in conference! And also have a championship game for each conference. Then take all the winners of their respected conference, and have a 8 Team playoff. What you guys think?

met1bama
(October 12, 2008 - 9:43pm)

Wow!That's all I can say about the performance of that Texas Offence.Whenever there was a play to be made thy done it!when there was trouble they solved it!Oklahoma has nothing to be ashamed of,OU played awesome, and Sam Bradford is still my Heisman frontrunner.Texas deserves to be #1,and I hope Bama can go undefeated, and Texas keeps on truckin the way they do,cause Bama is 0-5-1 against the Longhorns, and I think we could beat them!Though there is still a whole lot of football left,It's still anybody's game!College Football will forever be the greatest sporting invention ever!Well see tou on another day!Roll Tide!!
