Some of you may remember one of my posts earlier this year saying I though Georgia was slightly overrated. It turns out I was right. I think they've now fallen 9 spots in the polls. They are beatable (as proved by Alabama) and I think they will lose two more games at least (Florida and LSU).

sooner777
(October 15, 2008 - 7:51am)

i think that this week oklahoma state will be the best coming off a win against missouri amd playing baylor they will look like the better team, but tulsa has been worthy of the top 25 for the past 2 seasons and they are very good, also oklahoma won't let a loss bring them down they'll fight hard to go to the big twelve championship and to get back into the national championship conversation, but oklahoma state is currently the best

met1bama
(October 14, 2008 - 4:31pm)

Yes I was thinking about that earlier, and I agree that Tulsa should be a big 12 team! And yes Utah would be a better suit for the pac 10.Would you agree that "right now"Oklahoma St is the best team in the state of Oklahoma,or is it Tulsa or OU?

sooner777
(October 14, 2008 - 3:27pm)

you kinda forgot tulsa, which should be in big twelve and you could move utah to pac ten so that there wouldn't be an odd number of teams in the big twelve with the addition of tulsa, i would like to see the south west conference come back.

I believe that this is gonna be a great season! It has already been suprising, and exciting!Alabama goes from the bottom of the rankings to #2 in the country.Michigan,Tennessee, and Clemson all turned out to be very overrated.Utah,Boise St,and BYU all deserve to have a chance at a national championship.I think there needs to be a realinement in the college football world! The PAC 10 needs to add more teams(BYU,Utah,or Hawaii). The BIG 12 needs to add a couple more(Colorado St,or Fresno St)The SEC needs a few more(So.Miss,S.Florida,or Louisville)The BIG 10 needs to add(Notre Dame,Ohio,or Pitt)Disasemble CUSA,and the Big East!Make a new power conference! It would look like this..
SEC west east
1.Alabama 1.Florida

This is just a rough scetch of the way I think the conferences should look. Each team plays 1 non conference game, and the rest in conference! And also have a championship game for each conference. Then take all the winners of their respected conference, and have a 8 Team playoff. What you guys think?

met1bama
(October 12, 2008 - 9:43pm)

Wow!That's all I can say about the performance of that Texas Offence.Whenever there was a play to be made thy done it!when there was trouble they solved it!Oklahoma has nothing to be ashamed of,OU played awesome, and Sam Bradford is still my Heisman frontrunner.Texas deserves to be #1,and I hope Bama can go undefeated, and Texas keeps on truckin the way they do,cause Bama is 0-5-1 against the Longhorns, and I think we could beat them!Though there is still a whole lot of football left,It's still anybody's game!College Football will forever be the greatest sporting invention ever!Well see tou on another day!Roll Tide!!

I have NEVER seen such Horrible officiating, as I saw today in the OU-Tex game...I mean it, HORRIBLE!!! On both sides not just OU side.

bigsooner62
(October 11, 2008 - 11:07pm)

OSU? Well, maybe #10...Look at it this way, Oklahoma lost to a TOP 5 team, right?..USC dropped from #1 to #9 and got beat from an unranked Oregon St. SO, I figure 5-6 spots for OU. Missouri got a bad call from the refs., I saw it on CBS College game this evening, and the announcers them selves said so. Okla. St. did not intercept that pass..I noticed there has been alot of BAD calls lately...What the heck is going on?

if the voters r smart and look at the officiating in r game n c that we shud have won then i believe we shud be ranked 6 maybe 5 if wer lucky but i think oklahoma state may crack th top 10 now (MAYBE)

As I watch LSU-Florida,It's beginning to look better and better for Alabama.I would love to see Bama go undefeated, and play Texas,or Mizzou for the national championship.I believe Bama is gonna go undefeated, and I believe that Nick has a lot in store for Les Miles at LSU later in November.Bama is gonna win the west and play Florida for the SEC title(again!!)So Roll Tide everyone!

met1bama
(October 11, 2008 - 4:32pm)

I told you the future and you didn't listen!Texas was just the better team today, but I have never seen so many amazing catches in 1 game as I did today!I mean the second TD in the game for OU was just crazy, then the catch by Texas when the ball bounced straight in the air and came right down to him!But anyway,I told you that Texas would pull it off, don't count OU out yet!No way!cause there is way to much football ahead, more loses will come! And Bama will likley fall,Mizzou,Texas,LSU,Penn St.It will happen this is DI football baby!!Roll Tide!

soonerboomers1
(October 9, 2008 - 9:36pm)

i doo still believ we will win by 2 td's i just cant help it and believe it or not i think we can make it undefeated!i have very high expectations for my team and just think it wud be awsome if they cud fulfil those hopes

met1bama

I love the smack talk!Look soonersboomers1,I think Oklahoma is a great team, and I think Texas is a good team, but it's all about matchups, and you know as well as I do that any team can let itself down.Oklahoma may go into the Texas game with the thought that they will win by 30 pts!Texas on the other hand has just as much talent on their team as do Oklahoma.Hey Im pulling for OU,I like OU,don't get me wrong! But fact is fact.In the world of college football these days nothing is a gimme.I don't believe that Bama is gonna go undefeated,to be honest with you I don't see any BCS schools going undefeated.Look at USC,a loss already, and sooner or later Oklahoma will be that team,so will Bama,so will LSU,so will Vandy,Mizzou, and Penn St,and thats why I think we need a playoff system in DI football!Don't you agree? It would make major college football more fun,and teams like Boise St(witch handed yall a terd sandwich a couple years back),and BYU,Utah.teams that deserve a shot at a title and not just a BCS bowl!I just want you to know that if Texas beats OU it's still not over for the sooners, and if OU wins I think they are prime to make it to Miami for the NC game!So don't say your gonna win by 2 touchdowns or more because it won't happen, not against Texas! And yes sooner777 Kentucky is a good team, also one of the best defensive teams in the country. So let these guys win it on the field then we will talk again!I just don't want a grudge between you guys because you are all passionate OU fans, same as me being a diehard Bama fan! It's in our blood!!Peace fellas and keep it comeing!

met1bama
(October 8, 2008 - 6:53pm)

Man!Look at what i'm talkin bout,The Big12 is better right "for now".And the SEC beats each other up!Alabama the only problem we have is w/special teams,And depth. But we have beaten very good opponents, don't get me wrong,Clemson is kinda a disaster! But Kentucky will win some games, and remember the last SEC team to beat you guys was a Nick Saban coached team (LSU Sugar Bowl 4/NC)!There D had you so confused, and this team will do the same our D-lineman are quicker than your O-Line.And Bama's linebackers are very quick and strong! Our secondary is one of the best in the country, and Terrence Cody may get tired late?Oh well,we have another D-Lineman that can get to Bradford just as well as anybody(Bobby Greenwood). To be honest I don't think OU will beat Texas Saturday,Texas is gonna win!And when they do let's see who #1 is next week!!

sooner777
(October 8, 2008 - 7:25am)

i think that the ou texas game will be the best big 12 game of the year, here are some of my picks this weekend,
ou-texas ou wins 35-31
mizzou-oklahoma state upset osu wins it 42-35
lsu-florida florida just doesn't hjave it this year lsu wins 21-14

sooner777 made a great point about conferences. Let me iterate, it would not even be an issue for me; except that I get SO SICK AND TIRED of hearing about it (AND IGNORANTLY, AND INACCURATELY!) all the time, everytime I watch a sports show, or its even plaguing the commentary on the games I watch.
-Can I have an AMEN?!

That is because Saban is a great, absolute, no-nonsense coach that doesn't putting up with amy horse shi ! Remember that was the big edge that I gave them at the beginning of the year in my ranking quotes, that you liked. :) (I am starting to see that Les Miles is a bit of a winer)

sooner777
(October 7, 2008 - 9:47pm)

let's NOT get in the arguement on who is the best conference AGAIN I think that we should just look at the good, great, and fair teams instead of the conferences

I belive some big CONGRATULATIONS! are in order. I have been meaning to log on here and give you a big Woo-hoo! after that Georgia game. Although, you probably remember, I did predict them beating Georgia and Bama's strong shot at the BCS title game. Additionally, I won a lot of $ on that 6.5 point line. :) They look really good!

Submitted by sec overated on September 15, 2008 - 3:13pm.SEC

Please do not get me wrong, the SEC is a great conference and at least, the second best. I know 2 and 3 years ago, they were the top conference and maybe the year before that as well. And last year and this year, it may be marginal as it always is comparing top conference. But what really pisses me off about how ignorant everyone, especially the experts, are being, is this: Look at how the top teams in Big 12 were last year -Texas, OU, KU, Mizzou, and even Tech. All ranked teams, 3 in top 10.(almost 3 in top 5) Ok, now look at the extraordinary number of players, especially key players and QB's (or returnees + recruiting talent in Texas' example) that those teams returned. -And, all of the experts proclaim DEFINITIVELY and unanimously how each one of those teams is improved from last year. So how are they not mentioned as top conference??!!! I explained it in previous bolg; and unfortunately, intelligence does not usually prevail in world of sports. You must admit the paradox, or maybe even hypocrisy. You can not say that about any other conferences top teams not even SEC -only Georgia and Florida, and Florida had 4 losses last year Auburn returned many but no QB. (also 4 losses last year)
Also, I fully agree with what metbama said about teams being able to play each other more -of course playoff system would solve this, but lets not even go there; I am sure we all are strong on that one. Anyway, I really appreciate the way metbama stated that with out being biased or over reacting. I hate bias "homers." And BTW: yes, Bama looks good. I think they have great chance to be battling Auburn for West title on the last game. A win there, with at least one win over LSU or Georgia (which I think they will do) can have them heading to the SEC title game sitting in the "cat bird" seat with key losses by USC and OU. -It could happen!
