CFB Fantasy -- Top 100 RB

As we continue with our updated college fantasy rankings for the 2008 season, Ohio State’s Chris Wells leads the way at the running back spot.

Going into 2007, names like Darren McFadden, Steve Slaton, Mike Hart and Ray Rice topped the preseason rankings. With all of those moving onto the NFL, 2008 has a few new faces entering the top ten and while this isn't a class loaded at the top, there is plenty of depth.

Mid-Major Fantasy RB Ranks

Running backs at mid-major conferences had a huge year in 2007 - led by UCF's Kevin Smith and Tulane's Matt Forte. With both players gone to the NFL, look for Boise State's Ian Johnson and Southern Mississippi's Damion Fletcher to represent the top options from the mid-major ranks.

Big 12 Fantasy RB Rankings

Fantasy owners should find no shortage of roster options in the Big 12 this year and just like the quarterback position, running backs are stocked.

Pac-10 Fantasy RB Rankings

The Pac-10 is known for offense, but the 2008 running back class is relatively weak. Fantasy owners looking for a starting option from this conference will be rolling the dice with any pick, but California's Jahvid Best begins the year as the top rated fantasy running back.

SEC Fantasy RB Rankings

After a stellar freshman season, Georgia's Knowshon Moreno has his sights set on an even better 2008 - and one that could result in a Heisman Trophy. Moreno is one of the top five fantasy running backs in college football and is the top rated option in the SEC.

Big Ten Fantasy RB Rankings

The Big Ten usually cranks out several fantasy running back options and 2008 will be no different. Ohio State's Chris Wells tops the rankings, but Michigan State's Javon Ringer and Wisconsin's P.J. Hill are solid week-to-week options for your fantasy league.

Big East Fantasy RB Rankings

Pitt has hopes of contending for a Big East title in 2008 and running back LeSean McCoy will shoulder the bulk of the carries. After rushing for 1,328 yards year, fantasy owners should expect an even better year from this emerging sophomore in 2008.

ACC Fantasy RB Ranks

New Georgia Tech head coach Paul Johnson is breaking in a new offense, but the Yellow Jackets aren't short on options at running back. Big things are expected from sophomore Jonathan Dwyer, who begins the 2008 season as the top fantasy running back in the ACC.
