TP2Pryor has stolen the starting job from Todd Boeckman and will likely never look back. The Buckeyes' leading rusher (292 yards) has proven that he is a capable field general as well as being a superb talent. This weekend TP2 finished 8/13 for 70 yards and a score through the air while he rushed for 97 yards on 8 carries and two more touchdowns. SEASON: 296 yds, 5 TD, 292 rush yds, 3 TD
Has Spurrier found his guy?
Stephen Garcia, South Carolina (131 yds, TD, 86 yds rush, TD)
The highly touted, highly criticized redshirt freshman quarterback had a rather quiet debut this Saturday. Garcia played well enough – he was responsible for all but six yards in the five first drives – and efficient enough – 13 of 20 passing – to get a win. Expect more of Garcia - if he can stay out of trouble.
CUSA Strikes Again
Bryce Beall, Houston (132 yds, 2 TD, 2-18)
All fantasy owners should know the names Case Keenum and Mark Hafner. But Bryce Beall? The freshman tailback hit the 100-yard plateau and reached paydirt twice. Expect more from all of the Cougars as they face CUSA defenses from here on out.
Vernon Frazier, UTEP (73 yds, TD)
The Miners finally got into rhythm offensively with a 58 point explosion on Saturday. Although, Frazier only got four carries, he made the most of them rushing for over 18 yards-per-carry. That is two straight games of 73 yards rushing or more.
Top-4 Tracker:
The battle for “Best Receiver from the 2008 Class” will be a weekly debate. And it may never be settled until they all retire from the NFL. But for now, I have decided that they are all too good not to be ‘tracked.’ Here are their year-to-date stats so far (AC100 rankings in parenthesis):
1. (#2) Julio Jones, Alabama
Against the Bulldogs on the road, Julio performed well once again. He caught five passes for 94 yards and a touchdown. All single game highs for young Jones. In each of their two big road wins, he has reached the end zone. SEASON: 16 rec, 226 yds, 4 TD (5 games)
2. (#6) A.J. Green, Georgia
His stats this week are a bit inflated due to the huge deficit that Georgia was in for most of the contest. Six receptions for 88 yards and a score is still admirable for a true freshman - and in the fantasy world, stats are all that matter. SEASON: 22 rec, 388 yds, 3 TD (5 games)
3. (#13) Michael Floyd, Notre Dame
Many were picking the upset-minded Boilermakers this weekend, but the Notre Dame passing game took care of business. Floyd caught six passes for 100 yards in the big victory. SEASON: 16 rec, 218 yds, 2 TD (4 games)
4. (#17) DeAndre Brown, Southern Miss
The Eagles were off this week. The biggest of the four receivers has never had less than 80 yards receiving in any game in which he caught at least one pass. SEASON: 15 rec, 260 yds, 2 TD (4 games)
