It should come as no surprise Texas Tech’s Michael Crabtree holds onto the top spot in our updated college fantasy receiver rankings. In his redshirt freshman season, Crabtree caught 134 passes for 1,962 yards and 22 touchdowns – numbers that are enough to give defensive coordinators nightmares every night of the week. He also added five games of at least three touchdowns. Expect Crabtree to go within the first five picks of your draft – possibly as the top overall pick if you have a manager willing to gamble.

If Crabtree is off the board, there are other solid options for your team. New Mexico State’s Chris Williams should have a huge season if quarterback Chase Holbrook can stay healthy. Missouri’s Jeremy Maclin and Florida’s Percy Harvin are dual-threats who should tally plenty of rushing and receiving yards. Just after those three will be Rice’s Jarett Dillard and Ball State’s Dante Love.

If you are looking for a sleeper, keep an eye on Washington’s D’Andre Goodwin. With the Huskies experiencing a lot of turnover in the receiving corps, Goodwin could be Jake Locker’s new go-to target. Air Force’s Ty Paffett will be taking over for Chad Hall, who rushed for over 1,000 yards at the WR-Z spot last season. Paffett may not equal Hall’s numbers, but don’t be surprised if he rushes for over 500 and notches seven touchdowns.

Freshmen could have an immediate impact in the fantasy world this season. Alabama’s Julio Jones is stepping into a great situation, as D.J. Hall has finished out his eligibility and the Crimson Tide are searching for a new number one target. Southern Mississippi’s DeAndre Brown may be the biggest recruit in school history, but there is a quarterback question mark in Hattiesburg.
