While pro football fantasy leagues value running backs at the top of the fantasy draft, college fantasy tends to lean towards the quarterback. While there have been a few exceptions over the last ten years, quarterbacks in system offenses are usually atop preseason fantasy rankings. Hawaii’s Colt Brennan threw for a ridiculous 14,193 yards and 131 touchdowns during his college career and 2008’s number one fantasy quarterback Graham Harrell is approaching 11,000 yards in his career. Look for Harrell to throw nearly 6,000 yards and 50 touchdowns in 2008 – making him an easy decision for the top fantasy quarterback.

If Harrell is off the board when you pick, Florida’s Tim Tebow and Central Michigan’s Dan LeFevour are the next best options. Tebow seems unlikely to repeat his 2007 numbers, but will still have another solid fantasy season. LeFevour collected 46 total touchdowns last year and we think he has a shot to post even higher touchdown totals in 2008.

Rounding out the top five are Missouri’s Chase Daniel and West Virginia’s Pat White. Both players are solid starting options and should be taken within the first ten picks of fantasy drafts. Ball State’s Nate Davis and New Mexico State’s Chase Holbrook are unknown on a national basis, but each will produce huge numbers within their offense.

Looking for a few sleepers? Look no further than Washington State’s Gary Rogers or North Texas’ Giovanni Vizza. Both players will be playing in high-octane offenses and 40-50 pass attempts per game isn’t out of the question. Vizza has competition for the starting job from incoming freshman Riley Dodge, but the sophomore quarterback should flourish in Todd Dodge’s wide-open offense.
