Texas' Augustin wins 2008 Cousy Award

D.J. Augustin followed a stellar freshman year with another tremendous season leading the Texas Longhorns to a 26-6 regular season record, the Big 12 Conference title and a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament. Augustin claimed the Bob Cousy Award as the nation's best point guard.

Twenty years after Danny Manning and the Miracles won it all, Kansas defeated Memphis for the national championship, thanks to a miraculous shot by Mario Chalmers at the end of regulation.

2008 Final Four

History has already been made, with all No. 1 seeds advancing to this year’s Final Four in San Antonio. But that just scratches the surface of what the 2008 Final Four has to offer on a wide range of subjects.

Final Four — Kansas

The Midwest Region was clinched by the Kansas Jayhawks and coach Bill Self, who is making his first Final Four trip after leading three schools to the Elite Eight.

In the year of the chalk Final Four, Roy faces KU.

Final Four — North Carolina

The East Region was dominated by the North Carolina Tar Heels and coach Roy Williams, who will be facing Kansas for the first time since leaving KU for UNC.

Final Four — UCLA

The West Region was won by the UCLA Bruins and coach Ben Howland, who is hoping that his third consecutive trip to the Final Four ends in a national title.

Final Four — Memphis

The South Region was outran by the Memphis Tigers and coach John Calipari, who has convinced his No. 1 seed team that they are underdogs in the Final Four.
