San Francisco 49ers are the Best All-Around Team in the NFL

The Packers might be undefeated, but the 49ers' combination of a great offense and great defense is convincing

by Josh Kipnis

The San Francisco 49ers are the best all-around team in the NFL.  Yes, the Packers are undefeated.  Yes, Aaron Rodgers could be the best passer we have ever seen.  But teams without the Greek God of Quarterbacks have to have a balanced attack and consistency in all aspects of the game.  If we are determining a team with the best offense/defense combination, I have to pick the Niners.

The 49ers running back missed the second half of the Giants game

Frank Gore, according to San Francisco coach Jim Harbaugh is apparently "Fine" after suffering a knee injury against the New York Giants on Sunday.

The 49ers coach was emphatic that Gore will play next week, and the knee injury that kept him out of the majority of the second half is not serious. And that he wasn't put back in the game for precautionary reasons.

Jim Harbaugh: Captain Comeback

The rookie coach is restoring order to the 49ers — but not with his postgame handshakes.

Jim Harbaugh was born to coach. His father, Jack, coached football for 40 years, winning an FCS national championship at Western Kentucky in 2002. His brother, John, has made the playoffs every season since taking over the Baltimore Ravens in 2008. Even his brother-in-law, Tom Crean, is in the business — coaching basketball at Indiana University.

With all due respect to the rest of the Harbaugh coaching clan, Jim is the star — and always has been.

Frank Gore should get the majority of snaps on Sunday. The San Francisco 49ers running back has been nursing an ankle injury, but it looks like he'll play through it this week against the Buccanneers.

According to San Fran beat writer, Gore is expected to get 2/3rds of the carries with capable back-up Kendall Hunter getting the rest.

Frank Gore is going to miss time this season. That's a given.

Frank Gore is going to get hurt. That's a certainty up there with death and taxes. And in the 49ers Week 3 game against the Bengals (which was a horrible game to watch, by the way), Frank made that certainty a reality when he turned an ankle.
