Already suffering from college football withdrawals? Need something to look forward to? With the 2010 season in the books, it's time to start thinking about 2011. How about an early look at some of the best non-conference games next season?
Oregon vs. LSU (Dallas, Sept. 3) - After losing to Auburn, you can bet Chip Kelly will have the Ducks motivated for this one and another shot at the SEC. Both teams could be preseason top-five candidates.
Boise State vs. Georgia (Atlanta, Sept. 3) - The Broncos lose some key pieces, but quarterback Kellen Moore is back for his senior season. With Mark Richt on the hot seat, it's important for Georgia to get off to a good start and begin the year 1-0.
TCU at Baylor (Sept. 3) - Horned Frogs have to replace quarterback Andy Dalton and four offensive line starters, but return 1,000-yard rusher Ed Wesley. With the offense rebuilding, the defense will have to carry the torch early on, especially with a matchup against an explosive Baylor offense.
Alabama at Penn State (Sept. 10) - Crimson Tide dominated 2010 matchup - will this one be any different?
Oklahoma at Florida State (Sept. 17) - Sooners could be preseason No. 1, but an early trip to Tallahassee will be a good test for both teams.
Ohio State at Miami, Fla. (Sept. 17) - New Miami coach Al Golden has a chance to score an early marquee win, especially with Ohio State likely without five key players due to suspension.
Auburn at Clemson (Sept. 17) - Battle of Tigers was exciting in 2010 and should be another quality matchup next season.
Arizona State at Illinois (Sept. 17) - This one isn't on the level of Oregon-LSU, but this is a sneaky matchup of two teams with potential to surprise next year.
Michigan State at Notre Dame (Sept. 17) - Irish closed out 2010 by winning last four games and should only get better in Brian Kelly's second year.
LSU at West Virginia (Sept. 24) - If the Tigers are going to make a run at a national title, it's certainly not going to be an easy road with the non-conference schedule. Although the Mountaineers are rebuilding on defense, the offense should be much-improved under Dana Holgorsen.
