Big Points on Turkey Day
By: Charlie Miller | 11/23/10, 11:45 AM EST
Thursday will offer fantasy owners three contests that should bring fantasy points in the bunches. All three games feature high-powered offenses hoping to make a statement.
Dallas’ afternoon contest with New Orleans is the most interesting of the three. The Cowboys are out of the playoff picture but have looked sharp these last two weeks with interim coach Jason Garrett pulling the strings. The Cowboys have scored 33 or more points in both weeks – a mark the team had reached just once in its previous eight contests. New Orleans, meanwhile, has scored 34 in each of the past two weeks. The Saints offense finally appears to be back in top form, just in time to test a Dallas defense that has struggled at each tier this season.
Detroit is putting up nice offensive numbers despite the loss of Matthew Stafford, and actually ranks 11th in the league in scoring offense. Good thing for New England and its top-ranked scoring offense that the Lions have given up almost as many points as they’ve scored.
In the evening contest, Cincinnati faces a Jets offense that is among the NFL’s hottest right now. The running game has disappeared but Mark Sanchez is clicking with receivers Braylon Edwards and Santonio Holmes. New York faces a Bengals team that allowed 49 to Buffalo on Sunday.
Yes, there will be plenty to feast on this Thanksgiving Thursday. Enjoy!
